Who can send to a tripYou, from an email address on your account. The trip's own address also takes bookings from travelers you added, senders you said to trust and major travel companies, and holds anyone else's for you to add or reject. At trips@, only your own mail reaches your trip, and a non-member's is not read or kept.
Twice is not doubleForward the same booking again, or an update, and the booking is updated, not doubled.
Differences pointed outForward the whole set again and anything that differs is shown to you, not quietly overwritten.
Forward hotels, flights, trains, rental cars, transfers, restaurants and wineries, payment receipts, and whole threads with a vendor, as they arrive or the whole pile at once. It never moves money. A payment between you counts once one of you marks it paid, and both sides hear who did.
Ask any time what the trip costs: booked, paid and still to pay, and what cancelling today would not get back, by category, per day and per city. Amounts stay in the currency you paid in, next to dollars: what you paid at the rate on the day you paid, the rest at today's rate. If a bank blocks a payment, you get the vendor's other way to pay, such as a card payment link, before the booking is at risk.

The mistakes a pile of confirmations hides
The one that breaks the pattern. One flight in economy on an all-business trip, one ticket with a name spelled differently, one dinner still booked for 4 when 5 are going.
Connections that only work on paper. Landing at Dulles and flying out of National two hours later on a separate ticket, with bags, passport control and afternoon traffic in between.
Gaps. A night with no bed booked, an arrival after a small hotel's desk closes, a dinner that overlaps the drive.
Papers. A passport that expires too soon after the trip, or a name on a ticket that doesn't match it.

Before you ask
Who is it for?
Trips with a lot of moving parts: a few cities, a family or two, a rental car, deposits in more than one currency, and the small places you book yourself: the apartment host who answers by email, the driver on WhatsApp, the winery that takes six.
Do I need an app?
No. The trip's calendar works in Apple Calendar and Google Calendar, everything else happens by email, and a PDF of the whole itinerary is there when you ask for it.
Who can send things to my trip?
You, from an email address on your account, at trips@ or at the trip's own address. Others can send bookings to the trip's own address too. One really from a traveler you added, a sender you said to trust, such as your travel agent, or a major airline, hotel chain or booking site goes on the trip; anyone else's, a small hotel's included, or one that needs you to look first, waits for you to add or reject it. At trips@, only your own mail reaches your trip, and mail from anyone who isn't a TripInPalm member is not read or kept; during the private beta, members are the families invited to it. Nothing written in a forwarded email is taken as an instruction.
Does it book, change or cancel anything?
No. It never books, changes or cancels a booking, and it never moves money. It points out what to check, and when you ask, it drafts a message for you to send to the vendor.
What do the people traveling with us see?
Each traveler or household gets its own calendar link, with what is shared with the group. Your own bookings, codes and payments stay on yours. Each adult sees their own balance, not anyone else's.
What does it cost?
The beta is for a small group of invited families, and it is free: nothing is charged, and there is nothing to buy.
